Making Better Choices, part deux

Well, this was probably not the week to attempt to start making better choices as I've been ill, but all in all it's not been too bad. I'm drinking more water, though I do have to temper it with some sort of flavor as I find water flavored water dull and boring and undrinkable. But a few drops of lemon juice or a package of propel powder in a quart of water makes a huge difference. I also am drinking a ton of tea, which seems to be making a difference as well.

The tea/water started because I found myself sick once again thanks to my dad and Cijay, our grad assistant for the softball team. Both had this lovely crud, as did many of the other teachers at school, and while I was the last one to get it, I still got it. It's not a fun one, with a sore throat and stuffed up nose and lots and lots of coughing, but I'm getting through it. Anyway, it's true, water really does help when you're sick! :-P So I've been drinking a lot in an attempt to flush out the sickness and I find that it's working.

Additionally I'm doing better with exercise. Sunday Ricky and I took the dog on a bike ride to run by a house we were interested in. The house turned out to be nothing worth a further look, but the bike ride and company were enjoyable. Last night I took pup on a run by myself. We weren't gone too long, and to be honest I probably don't get much exercise since Jacko does most of the work, but it's something at least. Bette than sitting on the couch watching tv for those 15-20 minutes!

In an attempt to continue with the healthy beverages I got a big thing of Arizona diet green tea and brought it to work instead of my normal 6 pack of diet pepsi. With the inspiration of my cousin, I'm going to work on cutting pop out of my diet. I've done it before, I can do it again. I find that I turn to soda anytime I am thirsty instead of water, and it's not ok. I feel like tea at least is a step in the right direction. They say you can count tea for half of your water intake each day - wow! Pop doesn't count at all, sadly.

So that's where I'm at. Somewhat better, not great, but headed in the right direction.
